About Me
Michael Greenberger is a freelance illustrator based in Manhattan. His artwork is typically comprised of traditional mediums like oil paint, ink, and watercolor. The roots of Michael’s art began with monthly trips to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in early childhood. Having always had a yearning to own art, he has also taken an interest in collecting, specifically 18th Century Meissen porcelain. Michael recently wrote a book on the subject titled Early Meissen Porcelain - The Michael Greenberger Collection. He also loves Japan and has immersed himself in Japanese culture in Manhattan, which is one of the reasons that many of his paintings have a Japanese focus. Michael also resided in Shikoku and Kyoto for a short time and he loves traveling back to see old friends. This led him to study the Japanese language, art history, and tea ceremonies. Michael also works in the Education Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He lives in Manhattan with his four-year-old rabbit, Sumi.
